A dog show, Bollywood dance and comedy – Dublin’s most fun festival is back

Sarah McKenna

Brought to you by Dublin City Council Funtropolis

This FREE family-friendly festival will be in town for four days of serious fun.

Clear the schedule, grab the little ones in your life because Dublin City Council Funtropolis is back, baby.

This year, the festivities will be spread out across two locations and two weekends, so you and your family can double up on the fun.

The party will kick off in Mountjoy Square on June 14th and 15th (12pm – 6pm each day), and then on July 12th and 13th, Dublin City Council Funtropolis will cross the Liffey and make its way to Merrion Square (12pm – 6pm each day).

It’s set to be an absolute cracker of a festival, with activities for all kids, big and little. In addition to face-painting, fairground rides and delicious food and drink, there will be heaps of performances, comedy sets and interactive workshops.

Here’s what we’re looking forward to:

Performances

There’s a stacked line-up of family-friendly entertainers heading to the parks this summer, so you’re guaranteed some belly laughs. Comedians Curious State, Professor Plunger and Ballet Poulet will be keeping us giggling throughout Funtropolis, while magician Jack Wise will be on hand for some trickery. Guido Fanzini’s Thunderous Entertainment Haberdashery, Dance Duo Up Close and the Impossible Circus are also set to perform at Dublin City Council Funtropolis, making it an engaging and entertaining weekend for all.

Dublin City Council will also have its mainstays at Funtropolis.
