The city has never looked brighter. The Dublin City Council Dublin Winter Lights are back, with 18 iconic landmarks illuminated in stunning displays that bring a burst of extra magic to the season. Take a stroll and see the city in a whole new light—it’s free to wander, or for only €2, one adult and up to two kids can enjoy a 30ft hologram snow-globe and interactive light activities in Merrion Square Park.
Experience Ireland’s first ever 360-degree immersive outdoor light and sound display at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, tickets are also just €2, no matter your age! Tickets are just €2 for one adult and up to two kids.
Dublin’s Christmas markets are in full swing, offering everything from handmade gifts to tasty treats. The charm of Henry Street Mary Street Christmas Market, Moore Street Market and Temple Bar Markets make them perfect for a browse, while Christmas at the Castle brings a touch of old-world magic with artisan stalls.
Culture, Craic, and Everything Nice
It’s not just about shopping, though. Dublin’s Christmas line-up is brimming with free events and festivals to keep the whole gang entertained. Don’t miss the Christmas Spectacular at Smithfield, with an Ice Rink, a Big Wheel, and an Ice Museum believe it or not! Or for a cultural trip to town, the Hugh Lane Gallery one of Ireland’s leading museums, will be running exhibitions all throughout the festive season and free concerts at noon on Sunday 15th and 22nd December.
