katedemolder

The streets of Dublin are alive with construction, diggers and promise these days, and that can only mean one thing – there are a plethora of new watering holes and eateries for us all to spend our days in.

What a time to be alive!

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best, brightest and tastiest places you need to haul yourself to this weekend – for your own sake, if anything…

1. Zozimus

Named in honour of a balladeer and poet, who entertained the public in the streets of Dublin in the early 19th century, Zozimus is Dublin’s trendiest new bar and most delicious new cocktail spot.

Also known as ‘the place with all of the umbrellas’, Anne’s Lane’s newest haunt is the perfect spot to perch yourself and let your hair down after work.

2. Farrier & Draper

Located on the effortlessly cool South William Street, Farrier & Draper is the 1920s speakeasy bar of your dreams.

With a menu full of authentic Italian cuisine, and a cocktail list that reads like a storybook – this place ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to the perfect evening out.

3. The 1837 Restaurant, Guinness Storehouse

Located just below the world famous Guinness Gravity Bar, 1837 in the Guinness Storehouse isn’t your average pub-grub style feed – it’s decadent, elegant and absolutely deadly by any standards.

All dishes are made up especially to compliment the deep, rich taste of Ireland’s favourite stout – so do yourself a favour and get involved in some of their plates of deliciously tasty treats.

4. Meet Me In The Morning

Named after a Bob Dylan song, Meet Me In The Morning was always going to grab attention – but keeping our attention is a whole different ball game.

This beautifully sweet café, located just off Camden Street on the aptly named Pleasant’s Street, does a mean lunch and deadly breakfast, using the best of Irish produce, in the healthiest of ways.

5. Tram Café

Beauty in the ordinary may sometimes be terribly difficult to find, but the Tram Café is most definitely an exception to that rule.

Wolfe Tone Square’s newest haunt is quaint, simple and serves up some cracking coffee, delicious soups and brilliant blueberry scones – make this place a priority this week.

6. Dublin Cookie Co.

Yes indeed, there IS an actual Cookie Company in Dublin these days. And yes, it is as good as you can imagine. Set up by a duo of baking aficionados, this business venture is based around two of the best things in life – passion and chocolate chips.

The two ladies have recently set up shop in The Liberties, and business has been booming ever since. But that’s hardly a surprise…

7. Offbeat Donut Company

The newest addition to the doughnut revolution we’re currently in the thick of, is the one and only Offbeat Donuts, located right beside Pearse Street DART station.

Made fresh right in front of you, these guys claim their sugary treats are quite the donut experience – and having tested them, we’re inclined to agree. So what’s the difference between these guys and every other donut haunt in town? Well, you can customise your confectionary here, and the prices also won’t break the bank.
