Here’s Everything You Missed At Electric Picnic Over The Weekend

Sarah

If you’ve been suffering from serious FOMO over the weekend picturing all your mates having the time of their lives while you hit the gym and go grocery shopping, then stop panicking – we’ve got the full lowdown on what went on.

Consider this your cheatsheet to Electric Picnic 2017: All the best acts, and the very best of the craic.

Sure you could almost convince people you were actually there after reading this… You just need to turn up at the office looking suitably frazzled.

Here’s everything you missed at Electric Picnic this year:

Who were the top acts that blew the crowd away?

With big headliners such as A Tribe Called Quest and Duran Duran drawing huge crowds, other musical highlights included Katie Laffan, who unleashed a healthy dose of rhythm and blues, The Strypes, who had everyone rockin’ out, and New Jersey band Real Estate, who brought some serious sunshine and groove on Sunday afternoon.

Nineties nostalgia was in full force with enthusiastic tunes blasting from the Throwback Stage from pop favourites, 5ive, S Club Party and Jenny Berggren from Ace of Base.

What about the weird and the wonderful?

It just wouldn’t be Electric Picnic without all the quirky pop-ups you’ll find scattered around the festival site, and this year was no different.

P.S. Those rumours of an actual Santa’s Grotto were true, along with a few other wonderfully odd additions…

There was a Doggy Kissing Booth…

Art installations at every corner…

And daredevil acrobat performances…

And the most important question… Which stage was the place to be?

Ask anyone where the absolute craic was had over the weekend and they’ll be sure to give the same answer: The Throwback Stage.

Nineties chart sensations 5ive and S Club Party were announced as headliners of Electric Ireland’s poptastic Throwback Stage along with Jenny Berggren from Ace of Base, which brought all the nostalgic fun of your childhood right back – but better.

There was even a Dance-Off ring, so people could dust off some of those classic moves (Macarena anyone?), with a heap of cheesy dancing, slammin’ pop tunes, and questionable fashion choices.

Highlight of the entire weekend? Had to be singing ‘Reach For The Stars’ at the top of our lungs with hundreds of other S Club Partiers…

Check out the clip below, can you spot any of your mates?
