Here’s How You Can Get Actual Money Back Into Your Current Account

Sarah

Fancy having a bit of spare cash to treat yourself with at the end of the month? A dream for most of us, but it’s actually fairly simple to make it happen.

And no, we’re not suggesting you stick to a strict budget spread sheet. Instead, why not check out the great new Smart Current Account from An Post that lets you earn money as you’re spending it – now that’s a dream come true.

This new venture by An Post is certainly a game-changer in the Current Account market, and anyone who’s money savvy should have one of these.

So, how do I get MoneyBack?

The An Post Smart Account actually gives you MoneyBack – not discounts or vouchers or prize draws. Real money – and it’s really easy.

When you use your Smart Account to pay selected Smart MoneyBack partners, you’ll get MoneyBack into your account. All you have to do is shop!

Some of the brilliant ways you can save while you shop include 5% MoneyBack into your Smart Account on all Lidl transactions of €25 and above, 10% back on total bill costs with the SSE Airtricity MoneyBack plan, and 5% back on all holidays with Sunway. As if you needed another excuse to book a winter sun getaway, hmm?

What do I need to know?

This is just like any other good Current Account that you’d get on the market today, in that you have your Smart Account Debit Card, contactless payments, and access to your account 24/7 online and through the mobile app and website.

There’s also Account Wallets which lets you put money aside so that you don’t spend it – very handy if you’re saving for a small holiday or even just putting money aside for bills that aren’t regular (e.g. car tax, etc.).

Just like other accounts, there’s a €5 maintenance fee, but unlike other Current Accounts it’s easy to balance out once you take into consideration all that you can get back once you’re spending with the MoneyBack partners.

How do I set up my new Smart Account and start earning?

To apply for a Smart Account all you need to do is:

• Complete the application form online at smartaccount.ie or at your nearest participating Post Office

• Take your signed application form to your nearest participating Post Office along with

• Proof of identity (Passport, EU Driving licence or Public Service Card with a Birth Certificate)

• Proof of address no older than 6 months (Household Bill, Bank Statement, Letter from Revenue/Department of Social Protection)

Here’s how you can be in with the chance to win a €100 One4All voucher…
