Ireland’s first stand-alone Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop just opened in Dublin

Brian Dillon

Well, it’s safe to say we are pretty buzzed about this.

It turns out, Dublin now has a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop, because one has just opened in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre!

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield opened their first scoop shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont in 1978. Since then, they’ve been popping up all over the world in places like New York, London and now…. Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

With the opening of the country’s first-ever stand-alone Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop, you’ll have the opportunity to create your very own personalised ‘hand-packed’ pint of Ben & Jerry’s.

Here’s how this works: pick out four of your favourite Ben & Jerry’s flavours out of the 16 available (I bet it didn’t take long for four faves to come to mind) and the scooper behind the counter will combine these into your own personalised hand-packed pint, perfect to take away and enjoy at home.

With this being the only place in Ireland where you can select your flavours and create the perfect personalised hand-packed pint, it’s the perfect spot to get a delicious treat for the ultimate movie night in this winter.

Plus, many of the flavours, such as the Cherry Garcia, are exclusive to the scoop shop.

As well as this, the scoop shop will also see the arrival of the deliciously dark, freshly made charcoal cone.

And there are a few other exciting elements to the new scoop shop.

Firstly, the store has flavours that will cater to all diets. They will have a range of vegan-friendly ice cream flavours.

Made with almond milk, the flavours in this range are 100% certified vegan. According to the guys over at Ben & Jerry’s, the use of almond milk provides the best “blank canvas” for the delicious brownies, caramel, nuts, and chocolate we sourced.

But don’t worry, they are still loaded with chunks and swirls.

They’re also serving up their ‘Moophoria’ range (amazing pun, if you ask me), which is their low-calorie range. The ice-creams in this range have only 130 calories per 100ml.

Ben & Jerry’s describe their Moo-phoria range as ‘light on fat, heavy on flavour.’ Well if that isn’t the best of both worlds…

There will also be scrumptious, freshly made waffle cones and crepes available at the store.

I think we’ll definitely be heading out to Blanchardstown very soon…

Keep an eye out for exclusive flavours and more Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops coming soon.
