You may like gin, but do you truly love it? Do you love it so much that you could easily tell the difference between brands of the spirit by taste alone? If so, then you need to attend this event.
House on Leeson Street, in association with Tanqueray, will be doing blind gin tasting this August 6 during their Great Gin Fair, where customers will be given a gin flight containing three types of gin. Contestants must taste all three types of gin on the tasting board and those who name every brand correctly will be entered into a draw to win an overnight stay in the luxurious Savoy London as well as drinks in the Dandelyan, arguably the world's greatest cocktail bar.
And here you thought your gin habit would never pay off.
Here's a taste of the extravagance that the winner of the blind tasting competition can expect...
Have we got your attention now? We thought as much.
There will also be a gin quiz taking place on the day. Upon arrival, customers will receive a gin booklet with information about the fair and what's going on. Inside the booklet will be a quiz about gin and the answers can be found at each gin pop-up.
Once you've answered all of the questions, you hand in your questionnaire and, if you've answered all the questions correctly, you'll be entered into a draw to win the Irish Gin and Tonic Picnic Hamper.
But there's a lot more going on at this event than these two competitions.
This Leeson Street venue will be transformed this August Bank Holiday Sunday into "the most marvellous gin emporium, where our Great Gin Fair will showcase more than 80 incredible gins from home and abroad for you to choose from."
Theevent, which is free to enter by the way, will boast a tonne of pop-up bars where you'll find all manner of concoctions that will use your favourite spirit in strange and exciting ways. The fair will also have its own special currency called Junipers, with 7 Junipers (which equates to €7) allowing you to purchase any measure of G&T on offer.
There'll also be live music, tasty treats, drink samplings and talks from gin experts, so you can sure you're not gonna be bored.
Will you be checking out the Great Gin Fair at House this August Bank Holiday Sunday? Let us know in the comments.
