Five Cocktail Experiences To Look Out For At Taste Of Dublin This Week

seank

When you’re having a night out and you want to look sophisticated yet fun, a cocktail is your only man.

Taste of Dublin is returning to the Iveagh Gardens from June 14-17, the food festival is back with more talks and demos while showcasing some of the top producers in the Irish food biz right now.

We’ve already given you an overview of this food lover’s playground and mentioned a few ways to treat yourself while there, but today we want to focus on the festival’s cocktail experiences, led by Ireland’s leading bartending talent, from Diageo’s award-winning collection of World Class Spirits including Tanqueray No. TEN gin, Roe & Co Irish whiskey, Ketel One Vodka and Bulleit Bourbon.

If you love cocktails, you’ll probably want to check each of these Taste of Dublin activities out…

Roe & Co Tram 21

For a glitzy, glamorous backdrop as you swirl a sweet concoction, this is surely the place for you.

Modelled after the city tram system that operated from 1872 to 1940, which existed at the same time as the original Roe & Co Distillery on Thomas Street, this bar aims to capture the charm of old Dublin.

It even has a rooftop bar where you’ll find the best view of the whole festival!

Ketel One Kitchen

Here you can step into the kitchen and whip up your own cocktails.

During the day, immersive masterclasses will be held and participants will be shown how to make traditional Bloody Marys… as well as a few quirkier versions of the classic beverage.

But when night rolls around, class is dismissed and Kitchen Disco commences. Keep your energy levels up while boogying with a cheeky Espresso Martini.

World Class Bar & Cocktails at Home Masterclasses

Some of the world’s top mixologists, such as current Global World Class winner Katlyn Stewart and Global Cocktailian Lauren Mote, will be sharing their knowledge with festival goers at exclusive masterclasses over the weekend.

Participants will also have the chance to sip and sample World Class Spirits such as Tanqueray No. TEN gin, Roe & Co Irish whiskey, Ketel One Vodka and Bulleit Bourbon.

Sound good to you?

Tanqueray No. TEN Terrace

Escape the bustle of the festival, grab your mates and go for a walk in the Grapefruit Garden with a cocktail in hand.

To inject a whole new dimension of flavour to your Tanqueray No. TEN concoction, you’ll be offered an ice-cold vapour from a Tiny Ten vessel, a small copper pot filled with fresh citrus fruit and chilled down to create a zesty ice mist.

Just think how that’ll look on the ‘gram.

World Class Bartender Of The Year Irish Final

For the first time ever, the Irish Final of World Class Bartender of the Year is taking place at Taste of Dublin and you’ll be able to witness the crowning of the best cocktail maker in the whole country.

Visitors will see the three finalists go head to head throughout the weekend in a series of challenges of skill and creativity, culminating in the ultimate showdown on Sunday, June 17 that will determine who will go on to take part in World Class Global Final 2018 in Berlin this October.

Stop by to see what a world class bartender really looks like.
