1. Artist Residency Róisín de Buitléar @ The National Museum
When: 10 am - 5 pm every day.
Where: The National Museum - Decorative Arts & History, Benburb Street.
Irish artist Róisín de Buitléar has been selected as the Artist-in-Residence for the National Museum of Ireland for 2018.
Originally from Dublin, de Buitléar is Ireland’s foremost glass artist. Her work has been exhibited across Europe, the United States, China and Japan.
Her exhibition CAUTION! Fragile Tradition in Transit is a collaboration with three master glass cutters from Waterford.
2. People's Market, Dun Laoghaire
When: 10 am - 4 pm on Sundays.
Where: People's Park, Dun Laoghaire
A visit to one of Dublin's most popular markets is an ideal Sunday adventure.
3. Hike To The Hellfire Club
Pack a picnic and take a visit to one of Dublin's most fabled buildings. The views of Dublin at the top are to second to none.
4. Visit Áras an Uachtaráin
Tickets for this free tour are on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure to get there early.
You might see the President’s dogs, Bród and Shadow if you’re lucky.
5. Beasts From Brazil Exhibition @ The National Museum
When: 8th September - 9th December
Where: National Gallery of Ireland, Merrion Square West
This rare exhibition showcases Frans Post's wonderful landscapes of Brazil, guaranteed to ignite your wanderlust.
6. Jazz Sessions @ International Bar
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday @ 9:30 pm.
Where: International Bar, Exchequer Street, Dublin.
Featuring some of Ireland's best jazz and improv musicians like Cote Calmet, Sean Maynard Smith, Dominic Mullan, Paddy Groenland, Georgia Cusack and Alex Mathias. This is a perfect night out for any jazz lover.
7. Visit Dublin Castle
While not all parts of the castle are free, some of the best bits like the Chapel Royal, the Garda Museum and the Revenue Museum are available to view without charge.
Book ahead to avoid disappointment!
8. Visit The Deer In Phoenix Park
Take a break from the city and go for a stroll through Phoenix Park. The park is huge, so it might take a while to find the deer, but when you do it's well worth it.
9. Swim At The Forty Foot.
There is nothing more revitalising than a dip in the sea, especially in winter. And, the Forty Foot is famous for attracting swimmers all year around.
10. Bray to Greystones Coastal Walk
We know this is technically in Wicklow, but the Bray to Greystones walk is a must for anyone living in Dublin.
