We Tried Some Incredible Food Pairings Before Taste – And This Is What We Found

Alana Laverty

The Cupcake Bloke have really outdone themselves for Taste, which means you’re in for a major treat…

But hold up a second, before you tuck into those drool-worthy cupcakes, slurp down a few oysters with Simon Lamont of Shuck London at his stand.

You can enjoy all this and more at Taste of Dublin in the Iveagh Gardens this weekend, June 16 to 19. Wooop!

Oyster 1

Enjoy some fresh, salty, Irish oysters, either naked or topped with The Open Gate Brewery’s limited-edition Strawberry Porter.

Erbody loves a good oyster.

Oyster 2

Moving swiftly to The Cupcake Bloke’s stall to check out their insane creations.

Cupcake 1

One brew inspired cupcake in particular has had everyone talking…

This cupcake consists of a chocolate and porter sponge and is topped with a strawberry basil frosting, a meringue and a pipette of the Strawberry Porter!

It was artistically created to be enjoyed with the limited-edition Guinness Strawberry Porter which will be launched at Taste this weekend. How perf?

Cupcakes 3

Revolutionary – like summer in a cupcake.

They’ll also be serving everything from breads and brownies to scones and cupcakes – all inspired by experimental brews from The Guinness Open Gate Brewery.

Brews

Make sure to drop by The Open Gate Brewery tent to try the Strawberry Porter yourself.
