This Triple-Header At Croke Park Will Be A Fine Way To Spend Your Sunday

James Fenton

With the weather picking up, it really is the time of year to start making the most of your weekends.

Walks in the park and a pint in a beer garden are all well and good but what say you to an exhilarating afternoon spent at GAA HQ watching the greatest embodiments of our national sports strut their stuff?

The National League finals in football, hurling and camogie will all take place throughout the day and it’ll be a great chance for fans to check the form before the big stuff begins in the summer.

Here’s what’s in store.

At 12pm, defending champions Kilkenny will take on Galway in the camogie final, with the Galwegians hoping to stop their opponents winning four league titles in a row.

Following this, at 2pm, there’ll be a real mouthwatering clash as All-Ireland champions Limerick take on 2017 All-Ireland runners-up Waterford in the hurling final. Limerick haven’t won the hurling league since 1997 while the Déise will be hoping to repeat the feat they last achieved in 2015.

Finally, the football final will be contested by Kerry and Mayo, two counties who will have their eyes firmly set on knocking the Dubs off their perch this summer. This one gets underway at 4pm.

An adult ticket for €30 will get you into all three games. With the weather expected to be dry and sunny, what better way to spend a Sunday? It’ll be a long auld stretch though, so be sure to pack the ‘sangwiches.’

Tickets can be purchased here.
