The Bampfield points is Lidl’s wine rating system with a scale that ranges from “good” to “very good” to “outstanding” and “classic.” The 85 score means this bottle has been rated “good”.
This is a sparkling wine with a gentle fizz and delicate strawberry notes that’s as good to drink in winter as it is in summer. Prosecco tastes sweeter than Champagne and pairs well with seafood like a prawn cocktail or cheeses, cured meats and fruits. It also works well with snacks like nuts and crisps.
For something drier and less sweet, go with a finely-balanced Arestal Cava DO Brut (86 Bampfield points) for €11.49. It’s fresh, lively, and tangy with a hint of underlying citrus. This also works well with seafood and even fish and chips or rice and salads.
Or, you could impress your guests with Lidl’s Organic Prosecco (87 Bampfield points) for €11.99. This effervescent, refreshing, and drinkable Prosecco tends to go with everything. Chill it in the fridge before your guests arrive, and it will carry you through the entirety of your meal.
