Big Daft Punk fan?
Well then, you’re in luck, as super fans around the world feel like they’ve cracked the elusive duo’s code as to where they’re touring next year.
Any dedicated follower of the French electronic act will tell you that they only do world tours in years ending in the number seven, i.e. 1997, 2007 and, hopefully, 2017.
Just yesterday, a new website named Alive 2017 (reminiscent of their 2007 album and tour Alive 2007) with simple ‘Alive 2017’ visible on a black page, was launched – leading fans into a frenzy speculating over the possibility of a tour next year.
Upon zooming in, fans have noticed that the ‘I’ of Alive 2017 is made up on numbers. These numbers are actually coordinates for locations around the world with big cities like LA, Paris and Tokyo being mentioned.
…but there’s no Ireland on the list?
Yes, yes – we’re getting to that. The last time Daft Punk played Ireland was in 2007 at Oxegen, just after they’d played London. So, fans feel like if they’re going to London, then they’re also going to make a quick stop over in the Emerald Isle.
Sounds… Likely?
Perhaps, perhaps not. But never stop believin’, eh?
I guess only time will tell…
That’s the spirit! Now, in the meantime, get excited but not too excited. And maybe listen to Daft Club on repeat.
