One Of The Northside’s Most Iconic Pubs Has Gotten A Fancy New Makeover

James Fenton

If you’ve walked down Phibsboro Road any time over the past 100 years or so you’re sure to have come across Doyles Corner along your way.

The pub has been mainstay in Dublin 7 for generations and has long been a favourite of locals and visitors alike. Located a stones throw from Dalymount Park, home of Bohemian F.C., and a short walk from Croke Park, the pub is a popular meeting spot both before and after sporting occasions.

Its proximity to the city centre as well as largely populated areas such as Cabra and Drumcondra allows Doyles to enjoy a vast catchment area but some regulars might find the place unrecognisable in the near future if these pictures are anything to go by.

The pub took to Facebook to share the images ahead of its opening at 5pm on Friday. To mark the revamp, Doyles will go through a ‘teething month’ which will see it open for drinks on Friday before a dinner launch on Wednesday May 23 and brunch launch on the weekend of Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10.

It has to be said, it’s all looking great so far and even the toilets are sparkling after the makeover. Be sure to follow Doyles Corner on Facebook for further updates.
