VIDEO: Dublin Bus Driver Viciously Assaulted By On-Coming Passenger While Working

Darragh Berry

Footage has emerged online of an assault carried out on a Dublin Bus Driver who was punched several times by a member of the public.

The man who carried out the assault pleads with the bus driver to which he is met with a ‘no’ answer on each occasion. After the third time of asking, the bus driver says ‘good luck’ to the on-coming passenger who loses his temper and decides to punch the bus driver several times before dragging him outside the bus.

The video is 46 seconds long but it looks as though the argument had been going on for some time considering the bus driver’s door is open and he is standing face to face with the member of the public.

He hits the bus driver with three clean punches to the face and the driver was unable to protect his face quick enough. After that, the man in question started hitting the driver in a downwards motion, hitting the top and back of his head.

The video is split into two parts and the second part sees the attacker lying on the floor of the bus as he is being restraint by two members of the public, one of which is telling him to “get the fuck out”.

It is unknown when the attack took place. The video, however, was posted on YouTube on Sunday evening.

It looks to be a snapchat story or video that was recorded on another person’s phone.

in a statement released to Lovin Dublin, Dublin Bus said that:

“This incident took place on Friday 4 May at approximately 15.00 on Route 184 travelling towards Newtownmountkennedy.

“An Garda Síochána attended the scene and CCTV footage from the bus has been downloaded and made available to them.”
