Heineken Lose Entire Wetherspoons Contract for UK and Ireland Over Dun Laoghaire Pub

It’s just been announced that Wetherspoons are refusing to serve Heineken in any of their 926 pubs in the UK and Ireland. The dispute kicked off when Heineken demanded personal guarantees from Wetherspoons before supplying their new pub in Dun Laoghaire which is due to open shortly. While the guarantees are unclear, many are assuming that Wetherspoons are flexing their muscle because the big guys don’t want to supply €3 pints and instead want us to keep paying €5+ for a pint of beer. Either way it’s a controversial move and we’re interested to see how it will play out…
