This Quirky Rathmines Restaurant Has Just Been Voted Best Casual Dining In Dublin

Megan Cassidy

We’ve been raving about this place since it opened.

If you haven’t stopped into Middle Eastern food-mecca Hey Donna in Rathmines, you now have ZERO excuse not to book.

The eatery, which popped up just before Christmas courtesy of the foodies who brought us Jo Burger and Crackbird, has just been named Best Casual Dining Experience in Dublin at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2018, (AKA #FoodOscars).

The self-proclaimed “all-day canteen” beat off stiff competition from Craft Restaurant, Bagot’s Hutton and The Vintage Kitchen.

The criteria for the award is top quality food, great customer service and genuine hospitality. According to the website, ‘Whether its table service or order at a counter, the atmosphere should be relaxed and informal. Décor, style of food and culture of each establishment will vary widely but should all complement each other within each restaurant.’
