International Chain That Has Dundrum Store Issues Apology For This Reason

Darragh Berry

We were all shocked to hear that the lovable House of Fraser could be closing its Dundrum doors.

A source had originally said about the closure last week that:

“They know on Thursday if they will have to close. If nothing changes, than the store will shut in two weeks.

“All concessions got the warning last week that it’s possible.”

House of Fraser originally said in June that 31 of its 59 stores were closing down but that Dundrum would be safe.

It has since emerged that Mike Ashley has bought all the UK House of Fraser outlets and according to Fora.ie, the chain’s appointed administrator, EY, confirmed that the £90 million deal includes the Dundrum Town Centre outlet.

On Monday it was announced that the store would no longer accept giftcards “until further notice” and now the chain has had to issue an apology over Twitter:

“Due to delays with delivering online orders, we have taken the decision to cancel and refund all orders that have not already been sent to customers.

“All customers affected will receive an email in the next couple of days. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused,” they said on their Twitter.

A confusing time for the chain.
