Deputy Paul Murphy (34),Cllrs Michael Murphy (53) and Kieran Mahon (39) and Michael Banks (46), Frank Donaghy (71) and Scott Masterson (34) all stand accused of falsely imprisoning Minister Joan Burton during a protest against water charges in Tallaght in 2014.

The men have all denied the claims and the jury was released to deliberate on the case earlier this afternoon, with Judge Melanie Greally telling them to “be fearless” in their adjudication.
