Uh – There Was Some Problems With The New DART Service Already

Darragh Berry

You might have heard yesterday that the DART service was changing a slight bit in a move that everyone was delighted to see.

The DART now runs every ten minutes during the weekday with the new and improved service starting just before seven in the mornings and finishing just after 8pm.

Like most things, a small disadvantage of the increased frequency of trains meant that some journeys would take a small bit longer.

The trains now run every ten minutes in both directions between Bray and Howth Junction, alternating between Howth and Malahide at the times mentioned above.

However, there was some teething problems with the new service with commuters taking to social media to say that two services had been cancelled because of the new DART times.

It was inevitable that a new service like this would face some problems in its infancy.

Irish Rail’s Jane Creegan told 98FM that they hope to have these issues sorted out as soon as possible.

“We have had some teething problems I think it’s fair to say, particularly around capacity with our more frequent services”.

These new ten minutes DARTs were first proposed back in 2016.
