New York City Has Lifted Its Ban On LGBT Groups Marching In The St Patrick’s Day Parade

NYC’s mayor has agreed to end his two-year boycott of the city’s St Patrick’s Day Parade after a ban on openly gay groups marching has been lifted. New York City’s mayor, Bill de Blasio, refused to march in the parade in 2014, as a sign of solidarity because of the prohibition on LGBT groups.

This is New York’s 255th parade, and it will be the first one which gay groups will be allowed to participate. According to The Irish Times, the mayor will formally announce his participation in the parade at a press conference today at the Irish consulate on Park Avenue.

Now all we have to do is get Panti instated as the grand marshal for the parade, once she’s finished doing her thang in Oz, obvs.
