Extreme Greens Seaweed Workshop – 10th November

The Cake Café have been using more and more seaweed on their menu and decided to let their customers know more about it and how to cook with it. They are hosting a seaweed workshop with Sally McKenna, author of the Extreme Greens cookbook, on the 10th of November in Cake Café. Seaweed is known to have an incredible amount of health benefits and is grown in abundance on Irish shores, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the most neglected superfood in Ireland. Alchemy Healthy Pop-Up Dinner – 13th & 19th November

If you read our review of Alchemy this week you’ll have seen that this new café is the last word in healthy eating in Dublin. They’re hosting a pop-up dinner on both the 13th & 19th November at 7.30pm where guests will be joined by Susan Jane White, author of The Extra Virgin Kitchen, and Domini Kemp, chef, Irish Times food writer and Alchemy founder, for a three-course meal with a super juice to wash it down. They’ll be discussing the effects of gluten, dairy and sugar in our diets and explore the reasoning behind reducing our consumption of them.

The Soul Food Company – 15th November

The Soul Food Company is putting on a full day cookery demonstration on how to cook gluten and wheat free delights. The day will cover between 10 – 12 recipes, provide information on gluten free cooking and tips on how to adopt more healthy eating habits. While it’s not cheap at €120 for the day, you’ll leave with a new knowledge and an arsenal of recipes that will positively impact your health. You can book tickets here.

Powered By Plants – 19th November

As part of Eventbrite’s Brite Space festival I will be hosting a talk on the benefits of plant based and raw food diets. The talk will draw the expert opinions of well known figures in the food industry such as Ray O’Hara, co-founder of Green Beards cold-pressed juicery, Kevin Mulvaney of Staple Foods and a few more exciting speakers who will be announced next week. The event costs just €5 and all proceeds will go to The Simon Community, it starts at 6.30pm so swing by after work and do both your health and the community some good. You can book tickets here.

Yoga Supper – 20th November

Our former recipe contributor extraordinaire India Power of The Little Green Spoon and yogi Katie Parsons are hosting a Yoga Supper on the 20th of November. Guests will meet at SLICE cafe in Stoneybatter at 6pm and will be walked to a nearby secret location for a candle lit yoga class with Katie. Afterwards there will be 3 dinner options served up in SLICE café all by India of The Little Green Spoon sent to each person when they book their ticket. There are options suitable for paleo, vegan and vegetarians. All are gluten free, made with Irish, seasonal produce and of course very healthy. This night is suitable for anyone, no yoga experience is required. Tickets are very limited so book here to avoid disappointment!
