Artist, Brian Lowry, from Stillorgan, created these illustrations with a very literal take on Dublin place names.
From Chapelizod portrayed as a lizard in bishop’s clothing to the dolphins swimming through an orange barn as Dolphins Barn – each one is intended to resemble ‘a walk through Dublin through the eyes of a five-year-old.’
The inspiration stemmed from the fact that I am about to become a father in September. Originally I wanted to create unique artwork for our son’s nursery. Having imagined these places as a toddler myself – Poolbeg towers being a cloud making factory – I wanted to give him an imaginative journey through Dublin that we can take with us no matter where we live in the future.
Amazing.

Brian intends to ‘continue the series and develop them into prints/t-shirts which will be available for purchase’.
