A Hollywood Director Is Bringing A ‘Unique Bar And Horror Experience’ To Dublin This Halloween

James Fenton

For children, Halloween means dressing up and getting your hands on bags of delicious sweets. For adults, it mostly means dressing up, heading out and getting the bejaysus scared out of you.

In Dublin, there are usually plenty of places to do all of that and this year is no different. However, one venue will stretch a lot further than hanging a few cardboard bats from the ceiling and playing the Ghostbusters theme on repeat.

The Kraken Spiced Rum is teaming up with Hollywood horror director Neil Marshall to create Kraken Screamfest: Director’s Cut, which is described as a ‘terrifying bar experience’ in Dublin. Marshall, whose directing credits include The Descent and Dog Soldiers, will be responsible for every aspect of the immersive experience including the story, the characters, the sets and even the drinks.

Marshall, who also directed the Blackwater and The Watchers On The Wall episodes of Game Of Thrones, said of the event: “Kraken Screamfest: Director’s Cut will be a one-of-a-kind horror experience, inspired by the legendary sea beast, giving people who love my films the opportunity to step into what lurks within my mind when it comes to these creative processes. There are plenty of surprises up my sleeve, and I can promise that this will not be for the faint-hearted. The Kraken is famed for explosive experiences, and I’m excited for fans to see a little Hollywood magic sprinkled on its Halloween proceedings.”

It will all take place on Thursday October 31 and Friday November 1 and with tickets costing just €10, it sounds like the most frightful and fun way to spend Halloween. More information can be found here and the above video will give you a nice taster too.
