One Of The Most Fun Annual Events In Dublin Takes Place This Weekend

James Fenton

Looking for something to do this (supposedly) sunny Sunday? Look no further than the Africa Day celebrations at Farmleigh.

Africa Day falls on May 25 every year and, as you may have guessed, is a celebration of the continent’s rich culture and unity. Marked around the world, festivities for the event first began in Ireland in 2006 and it has now grown into a large-scale family event.

While venues dotted around the country will host Africa Day celebrations this Sunday, the flagship event remains at Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park where musical performances, educational elements and great food will be found.

With May 25 falling on a Friday this year, it would hardly make sense to hold Africa Day festivities while most people are in work or at school. Instead, it will take place on Sunday May 27. It’s always a memorable day out for people of all ages so why not mark your diaries and get down and have some fun in the sun*? More information can be found here
