The August Bank Holiday weekend means only one thing for Dubliners - Beatyard!

The popular seaside festival has been taking place in Dun Laoghaire Harbour for the last five years but unfortunately, it's looking like this may be its last year in the much-loved venue.

Organizers said:

"It's looking very likely this will be our last time here, and that we will be unable to use the Harbour site for the festival next the year 2020."

As an attendee of the festival last year, I have to say this is really disappointing news as I really adored the atmosphere of this southside town - it was also a great excuse for their boat parties!

Organizers are now putting out a plea to help them find a new site for 2020:

"We aren't getting clear answers on 'next year' and getting the site and dates confirmed - so we are putting the call out now if you have or know anyone in the area [ or beyond ] who would be interested in hosting this Beatyard 2020 - get in touch!?! Ideally we want to keep this festival in Dublin City, but if we're forced out of Dublin, so be it - we will go where we are welcomed and is viable!"

The good news is Beatyard goes ahead as normal this weekend.

This year, the festival has some incredible acts playing such as Groove Armada, Grandmaster Flash, Chvrches and a whole load more.

There are boat parties running both afternoons at 3pm and 5pm which you can book tickets for here (although they’re selling out quick), a Gamesyard with everything from arcades to bingo and mini-golf, and a Kidsyard with entertainment running from 12pm to 6pm each day.
