Stop the world and let us off.
We're slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that summer is coming to an end. We're almost ready to admit that it got a bit *too* hot and humid, and a touch of autumn weather wouldn't go amiss.
But CHRISTMAS?? Give us a minute.
There were alarm bells yesterday when Brown Thomas staffers were spotted putting up what looked suspiciously like Christmas Trees in shops around the country.

And now Brown Thomas fashion director Shelly Corkery has confirmed on Instagram that the Brown Thomas Christmas Shop does in fact open tomorrow, August 16th.
She wrote on Instagram:
'Christmas shop !!!! @officialbrownthomas ... ???????????. Open tomorrow ...'
Just to confirm - that's 132 days before Christmas. One third of a whole year.
Twitter is confused:

It's not a new thing of course, with the luxury chain opening their Christmas shop in mid-August on an annual basis.
Last year, Brown Thomas Managing Director, Stephen Sealey explained why it's early doors.
He said: “The Christmas Shop at Brown Thomas opens in August every year and proves really popular with our customers.
“A lot of people like to get organised early – from interior designers sourcing special pieces to tourists looking to bring home something extraordinary – it satisfies customer demand.”
What do you think? Are you happy or outraged?
