Aretha Franklin

Few people have made such iconic music as the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Franklin recorded 112 charted singles on Billboard, including 77 Hot 100 entries, 17 top-ten pop singles, 100 R&B entries, and 20 number-one R&B singles, becoming the most charted female artist in history.

On top of that, she was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

So yeah, she was a big deal.

Aretha died on August 16 following a battle with cancer.

On December 2, a tribute night to the Queen of Soul will take place in the Sugar Club.

A group made up of some of the best session musicians in Ireland - along with some of our most powerful soul singers are paying tribute to Aretha.

10 female vocalists will bring you her most well-known hits including, Say A Little Prayer, Natural Woman and I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Loved You).

Tickets are cheap as chips at only €15.

Anyone remember the moment Aretha absolutely bossed it with her rendition of Nessun Dorma?

If not, then hit play below.

This would be a perfect night out with a bunch of pals.
