Dublin's Newest Dive Bar Is Bringing A Touch Of London Class To Temple Bar
Start the week off right
Stop mourning the weekend lads - it's not over yet. Monday just became Saturday (kinda, just go with it, alright?) thanks to Dublin's newest dive bar.
R.i.o.t is a "Brooklyn meets Berlin-style dive bar style with premium drinks and a revival of retro cocktails" that's been bringing serious craic to the Quays ever since it opened a few months ago.
Pool tables and neon lights upstairs, and a basement that's hopping with DJs every weekend has made r.i.o.t a sneaky new spot to let loose.
They've also teamed up with London bar group, The Umbrella Project, for a night of Irish whiskey cocktails that brings London to Dublin.
Kicking off at 7pm 'til late - which means calling in sick to work tomorrow - the takeover will be a whiskey-infused night you won't regret.
Tonight will see two of London's most popular bars, The Sun Tavern Bethnal Green and Discount Suit Company come to Temple Bar
They've created some pretty class cocktails for the evening...
There'll be a menu of Irish whiskey and poitin drinks, as well as a guest cocktail from their friends at New York's The Dead Rabbit, contributed to the night by beverage director Jillian Vose!
Jason Patrick Glynn from The Umbrella Project spoke to Lovin Dublin about the event and said that "the goal is to bring something different in-terms of cocktails to Dublin (having previously worked as a bartender in Dublin, often their too sweet) but also to raise awareness on the brands."
Sip on Umbrella Brewing's Ginger Beer on top of cocktails sponsored by The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey, Micil Poitin, Roe & Co, Slane and Teeling.
Intrigued? You should be.
Check out more info about the event here and we'll see you underneath those neon lights, yeah? Mondays have never been better.
