The phrase “you could be the next Niall Horan” has basically become an Irish proverb. The Mullingar man is fully living the dream, up there with Fionn Mac Cumhaill – his story is the stuff of Irish legend.
And now One Direction’s management team are descending upon Dublin to pluck another one of us out of obscurity and into the big time.
Modest! Management, the team behind One D and Little Mix, will be holding open auditions at the Button Factory on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June in the hopes of finding a male singer/songwriter to join an international group.
Applicants must be between 15 and 19 and ‘must have strong vocal ability and be able to play guitar or keyboard’.
The open auditions will run from 9am to 3pm each day, and applicants should prepare two songs which they will perform acoustic/acapella.
Applicants are asked to arrive early to avoid missing out and to bring any equipment you may need for your audition.
