There’s A Really Cool Outdoor Screening Taking Place At Dalymount Park Tonight

James Fenton

With the sun staying out until late in the evening these days, it’s best not to waste any moment on the sofa. Let’s be honest, you can record Love Island for one night at least.

Today looks particularly nice out there and if you are looking for a bit of fresh air after work, Bohemian FC is putting on the perfect midsummer evening event which will appeal to football fans as well as those who just want to catch some Vitamin D before the sun goes down.

The club will be screening George Best In Dalymount: Football As Never Before, a film which will give a rare modern insight into the greatest footballer ever to come from this island.

The film sees a camera follow Best around the pitch during a Manchester United game against Coventry City in 1970 and is the work of German director Hellmuth Costard.

The movie was recently rediscovered by Dubliner Matthew Nolan who has now provided a score which will be performed live on the pitch along with the film.

It already sounds great but throw in a bar that will be open from 7pm and you’ve got yourself the perfect chilled-out evening on Dublin’s northside.

The screening starts at 9.15pm (dusk) and tickets cost €15. More information can be found here.
