This Poké Pop Up With a Difference Is Where You Should Have Dins This Weekend

Megan Cassidy

The Poké craze is showing no signs of slowing down and we’re pretty delighted about it.

Fresh sliced marinated seafood tossed over rice with fresh veggies and tropical fruits smothered in sauce – we can see why the city has rowed in behind the poké revolution.

Klaw poké in Temple Bar was among the first spots to go full poké, although The Fumbally had been serving a poké bowl as a special since 2016.

Healthy AND tasty – it’s a winner all round.

We introduced you to Shaka Poké last year and since then they’ve popped up at various food markets and festivals including Beatyard, Wellfest, City Spectacular – basically anywhere where people come together to chow down.

They’re a fixture at Blackrock Food Market where you can grab a bowl every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 – 5:30pm, but we wanted to bring your attention to something really cool they’re doing right now for a limited time only.

The brains behind Shaka Poké, Jamie and Dave, have collab’d with Lock 6 café on Canal Road to bring us a “digital restaurant experience” for nine days only.

The pop up is powered by socio-local, and the only way it’s being promoted is through social media and digital – doubling down on the fact that most people decide where to go from their Insta-feed.

The pop up will run until next Wednesday 21st Nov, so this is the last weekend you can check it out.

It’s the first time the guys are doing a sit-down three-course meal, with starters including prawn and roasted pineapple salsa and classic edamame with Hawaiian black lava salt.

For mains choose from the Shaka Poké house favourites including the Heatwave, Off The Wall and Ponzu Party. For dessert, you will be torn for choice with a Pineapple Upside Down Cake or Acai Banana Ice Cream.

Sounds good?

Spots are booking up fast, so head here to book a table ASAP.
