This time last year I sat in my front room having a coffee with
Jamie Heaslip. He told me that he liked my little personal blog and that he'd love to get involved – so he did, and we've since managed to grow that personal blog into a startup business of its own, powered by a brilliant team.
The brilliant team is key here. Every time I meet Jamie he asks me "Who have you hired that's world class? They need to be the best." Today I'm glad to say we've listened to his advice again and are taking things to a whole new level with a great new hire. With such a great team building I'll finally be able to move to the side completely and focus on providing content like recipes, reviews and... you know, trying to stay out of trouble.
To our readers, thanks for taking us this far and strap in for one hell of a ride in 2015 it's going to be whopper...
Head of Strategy – Aidan Coughlan
Aidan joins us today, but it's fair to say he's been on our radar for a while – we ran this profile of him in December, and we also had him as one to watch over on Trends late last year. He was heading up digital for Newstalk (of which we are big fans), and he'll be running strategy for us here at The Lovin Group. So What does that mean? It means driving the expansion the group, producing world-class digital content, making sure that content gets found across devices and social, launching new verticals and helping us to expand our world-class team.
He managed to land the role despite the fact that, by the looks of this pic, he's only taking it because he missed out on auditions for The Script.
Our MD Graham (who now runs the ship) had the following to say...
I'm delighted to welcome Aidan to the team as Head of Strategy. As we move to create more publications and launch content on new platforms and in new formats I wanted an expert to guide us through this. Aidan's skills are a perfect fit for us and will bring the company to the next level. Lovin Dublin Towers is super excited about our future plans becoming a reality over the coming weeks. Watch this space.
2015: A Year Of Growth And Jobs
We think Ireland is bouncing back beautifully after around seven years of pain, and although there is still much more work to do, 2015 looks like it's going to be a very positive year for us. We've been busy planning, and Aidan will be the first of 12 people we'll be recruiting. Graham will be heading up the recruitment process and we'll be looking for the following so do keep an eye open over the coming months...

It’s a good day for south Dublin foodies. Earlier this morning, Michael’s, the beloved steak and seafood restaurant in Mount Merrion, confirmed they’d be opening a second branch, not far away in Blackrock Village. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXxwfenM52y/ In a post on Instagram sharing the news, the Michael’s team wrote: I’ve always watched in awe at how quickly […]
Dublin foodies will have probably already had their eye on the spot in the Trinity Car Park for a while now. In a city as big as Dublin there will always be openers, but few have the same knack for cracking them as the team at Allta do. Following on from the success of the […]
This burger sounds like a 10/10 Irish and Leinster rugby player James Lowe is now a brand ambassador for Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK). Three New Zealanders founded the chain of burger joints in 2001 and the restaurants maintain many of their kiwi roots. The idea for gourmet burgers and James Lowe both originally hailed from […]
