Vinyl & Wine returns with a special playing of ‘Back to Black’ on high quality vinyl with a special sound system at The Liquor Rooms this August 30.

Following the release of the critically acclaimed Amy documentary, the organisers of Vinyl & Wine are gathering Amy Winehouse’s Irish fanbase for an intimate listen to her iconic album.

Like all Vinyl & Wine events, the full album will be played on vinyl to an attentive audience on a top-of-the-range sound system specially supplied by Cloney Audio.

There will also be a discussion panel at the event, which will include Universal Music Ireland’s MD, Mark Crossingham, along with TXFM’s Dee Reddy, who recently interviewed Amy Winehouse’s first manager, Nick Shymansky.

The event promises to provide fans with a unique listening experience and deep insights into Amy Winehouse the artist, as well as into the album’s production, promotion and its impact on music in Ireland.

One of the organisers of Vinyl & Wine, Mark Whelan said:

After the sadness of the excellent Amy movie, it was a no-brainer to organise an event to celebrate Back to Black and the once-in-a-generation talent that was Amy Winehouse.

Listening to the album on vinyl on Cloney Audio’s spectacular system is going to be pretty moving. And that’s what we want – people to be moved by her music, as opposed to all of the controversy and tragedy that surrounded her personal life.

Vinyl & Wine presents: Back to Black takes place in The Liquor Rooms at 5pm on August 30.
