While the weather outside is growing ever-colder – frightful, you might say – our drinks compensate by getting hotter – more delightful, you might say.
And we're all for it.
On that note, here are 12 of the best mulled wines you can get your shivering hands on this festive period.
1. Fallon & Byrne
Fallon & Byrne does food right, and therefore does Christmas right. Their fruity mulled wine is to die for, comprised of equal parts Christmas cheer and warm fuzzy feelings.

They also stock Tasty Threads clothing and handcrafted silver Taer Jewellery which would make whopper presents.
3. Ely Wine Bar, 22 Ely Place
Ely will be serving up mulled wine from both bars – but a particular shout out to the one in the IFSC as it's just on the doorstop of the Christmas market. A recipe for a great day out.
4. JW Sweetman's, 2 Burgh Quay
One of the most brightly decorated pubs in the city, JW Sweetman's has been voted Sky Craft Beer Bar of the Year 2015 – and also boasts a hearty mulled wine.
5. Berlin, Clarendon Street
Berlin is exactly the kind of place you want to get yourself a mulled wine in. Cosy interior, ample people-watching opportunities outside and a place where you can bring your pup to join you.
Not to mention they have incredible Christmas coffee art on display for the designated drivers of you, yiz saints.
6. Dice Bar, Smithfield
For all of you Luas red-liners, Dice Bar's got you seasonally covered.
The Bernard Shaw doesn't do things by halves. Their hot drinks list kicked off late November and their mulled wine is a divine mixture of all things Christmas.
And their other seasonal tipples don't look so bad either...
8. Pygmalion, Powerscourt Townhouse
Arguably the best spot in Dublin to sit outdoors and sip on Christmas in a mug. Right in the heart of the city, a perfect shopping break place to perch.
9. Sister Sadie, 46 Harrington Street
Sister Sadie boasts just the ticket to sort yourself out on the cold, stormy evenings we're currently facing. Delicious, home-made, toasty goodness – nothing more to it.
10. Sober Lane, Irishtown
A charming spot which will neither be too busy nor too packed during the Christmas season, despite a glowing reputation.
Also not too far from The Christmas Village, to ensure a healthy dose of the warm and fuzzies.
11. FIRE Restaurant, The Mansion House
Open from 5pm daily, FIRE is the perfect spot to let your hair down after work in truly glam surroundings – and was indeed winner of Dublin's Finest Restaurant at our recent awards.
For the holiday that's in it - you'd be mad not to go to The Church.
Full of whopper decorations adding to the already sparkling atmosphere, The Church is just what the doctor ordered. And their mulled wine is top notch too, which definitely doesn't hurt.
