Two flights were forced to make emergency landings at Dublin Airport in the space of 12 hours this weekend.

Medical emergencies forced two separate flights to divert to Dublin over the Bank Holiday weekend, with one landing on Friday night and another Saturday morning.

The first occurred at approximately 8.30pm on Friday evening, when Air France flight AF348 from Paris to Montreal touched down at Dublin Airport.

The second took place 12 hours later, when United Airlines flight UA46 from Houston Texas to Frankfurt was forced to divert to Dublin.

A spokesperson for Dublin Airport confirmed to Lovin Dublin: “The first was last night around 8.30pm when an Air France aircraft on route from Charles de Gaulle to Montreal landed with a medical emergency and another this morning at approx 8.30am when United Airlines from Houston Texas to Frankfurt also diverted due to a medical emergency.”

No further information regarding the specific medical emergencies was provided.
