Urban cool

Want your photos to pulse with the spirit of the city? Capture the essence of living, breathing Dublin by strolling down the likes of Grafton Street or the Quays, posing against Temple Bar's cobbled lanes and street art or taking a wander around the Liberties.

Pop into Smithfield Market, a chipper in Stoneybatter or an antique shop on Francis Street – just take a leap of faith and bring your photographer for a walk – you never know what you'll find.

Don't mind anyone gawking at you and besides, think of the thrill you'll give tourists and locals alike.

Parks

You're spoiled rotten with parks, but then you know that already.

Boho chic couples will love Phoenix Park's big, proud trees and rambling wild deer, Stephen's Green has those incredible Victorian bandstands and Iveagh Gardens boasts that gorgeous little waterfall that might make you want you go for a wee – but it's okay, you won't mind holding it to 'get the shots'.

Pubs

Stiff-necked portraits are being replaced with natural, candid images that show couples' personalities. Newlyweds sharing a pint of Guinness or snacking on cheese toasties in one of the city's many pubs can make for some really cool shots.

Try Wicklow Street's ye olde style Mary's Bar & Hardware Shop for a quirky backdrop, Kehoe's on South Anne Street for its 'proper Irish pub' interior or The Parlour upstairs in Whelan's on Wexford Street – with its loud Sixties wallpaper and vintage furniture it's like a film set.

Coast

Dublin's varied coastline is just the ticket for couples who are after a bit of drama. We're talking the sweeping beaches of Portmarnock or Dollymount, the jawdropping vistas of Killiney Hill, the picturesque beauty of Howth Harbour – pop up there on the sea wall, be grand.

And it's great, you'll get the head blown off you with the wind ('cos it Ireland) so as a handy bonus you're going to look like you're in a music video.
