Ingredients
  • Prawns
  • Crusty Bread
  • Butter
  • 1 Chilli
  • Garlic
  • Parsley

Garlic prawns are one of my favourite things to eat. They’re so sweet and juicy, and with crusty bread to mop up the garlic butter sauce… They’re just perfection!

This is incredibly quick to make, it only takes about 5 minutes and involves no skill whatsoever! The key thing is to get good, fresh Irish prawns and nice crusty bread, it will make all the difference.

Instructions

Step 1

Line up all your ingredients. For a main course you need about 8 prawns per person, I’m making this for one person so you can double up your ingredients accordingly if you’re cooking for guests.

Dish-6-1

Step 2

Chop up about 3 big garlic cloves, as finely as you can.

Step 3

Deseed your chillies and finely chop them. Try not to itch your eyes afterwards like I did.

Step 4

Chop up your fresh parsley nice and finely too. That’s all your prep done!

Dish-6-7

Step 5

In about a tablespoon of butter fry your garlic and chilli for about a minute on a medium heat pan… You don’t want the butter to burn so watch that heat. Then add in your prawns, you can add a little more butter if needed- the butter and herbs make the sauce so you don’t want the pan to be dry.

Step 6

The prawns should be cooked after only a minute or two. You know they’re cooked when they’re no longer translucent, the last thing you want is overcooked rubbery prawns so keep an eye on them. Quickly sprinkle in the chopped parsley and stir the whole thing together with a spoon.

Step 7

Serve on a plate with your fresh, crusty bread.

Step 8

You can pour any of the remaining juices from the pan onto your bread and serve up immediately. This is so amazingly simple but delicious.

Step 9

Enjoy!

It doesn’t get much quicker or easier than that, but my God is dish taste mouth watering!
