You may remember a while ago, we wrote about the legal green cocaine taking Dublin by storm. A few months have passed since then, and lots of cafés around the city have really upped their game in perfecting their matcha lattés. Now I’m not a coffee drinker, so I have always been jealous of the people who become instantly alive once a drop of coffee passes their lips in the morning. However, since discovering matcha it has filled that coffee shaped hole in my life, giving me a sustained energy that continues for hours after. The health benefits are numerous, and the wide range of milks available in cafés now means you can have them whichever way you like. So if you haven’t already tried one, here’s our pick of the best spots in the city to get your matcha fix. But beware, this stuff is pretty addictive…

5. Noshington Café

Great little spot, open til 7pm on weekdays so you can get your post-work matcha if you’re in need.

4. KC Peaches

Come for their matcha lattés, stay for their decadent club sandwich. With four outlets around town and more in the works, you need never be too far from your fix.

These matcha lattés come with either almond milk or coconut milk, and are just the thing to go with their delicious buckwheat pancakes.

This little gem on Camden Street has so many options you won’t even know where to begin! Coconut, almond, hazelnut, low fat or full fat milk? Sweet matcha (with natural fruit pectins) or original matcha? Don’t worry, they’re all unreal.

Their velvety matcha lattés are so dreamy you literally want another one as soon as you’ve finished. Their selection of tunes is phenomenal, and also have an amazing range of paleo cakes, so you’ll have difficulty staying away from this spot.
