Last week we wrote a list of the top 10 child-friendly restaurants in Dublin. The responses we received from this article were great, with many parents sharing their favourite restaurants across the city to bring their kids to. A few of our readers mentioned that another important principle to consider was easy of access in and out of the outlet, particularly for buggies. Following on from all the feedback we got, we have drawn up a list of all your responses. The following are all places with great kids menus, friendly staff, distractions for the children and that are buggy-friendly, according to the Lovin Dublin Community. Once again, if you can think of any massive oversights be sure to let us know in the comments and we will add them to the list...
Pizza and craft beer spot in Rathgar that is super accomodating for children. On Tuesday nights all tacos are €4, so great value if you're bringing the little ones along too.
Perfect if you've got any kids with adventurous appetites, their platters are huge and really good value so great for sharing. Not all raw fish so plenty rice and chicken dishes available for any fussy eaters as well.
Massive airy space that used to be an old shoe factory (hence the display on the wall!). Not only is the food great here, but there's tons of space for buggies, and the kids menu doubles as a colouring book. On Sundays they even bring out a bunch of toys for children to play with while the parents brunch to their hearts' content.
Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner - buggies are more than welcome, and the comfy armchairs are a massive plus for weary grown ups. Incredible cakes here too.
Another sushi spot - it seems our reader's children love Japanese food! They've got restaurants in Dun Laoghaire, Ranelagh, Sandyford and just last week received a McKenna's Guides Award for 2015 for top quality food.
The Farm do really wholesome food, all organic and locally sourced. This is a great place to bring the kids as all the food is really healthy and hearty, and they have two locations in town - Leeson St. and Dawson St. Their dedicated Junior Menu has loads of options, and they can even get organic ice-cream for dessert.
This Temple Bar restaurant seems to be very popular with our readers for a few reasons - they have plenty of children's booster seats, the bathrooms have baby changing stations, plus they provide colouring books and cartoon themed menus for any parties with children. As an added bonus, they are able to whip up any adult dish into a kids portion - all you have to do is ask!
Authentic Thai food that's incredibly tasty, they have a dedicated kids menu with simplified versions of dishes on the real menu. The major draw here has to be the Mr. Whippy machine where you can pour your own 99, massive hit with kids (of any ages!).
This spot is in Bray, so technically Wicklow, but so many of our readers mentioned it we had to include it. Not just a pizza place - tons of salads, wings, meaty mains and flatbreads available too. Their menu is great for anyone with allergies as it has plenty of options, and their side of mac & cheese is the winner for any fussy kids.
City mottos, much like the advice of Irish mammies, come with good intentions but are often out of touch with reality. Around the world, cities cling proudly to little sayings, preferably Latin and suitably obscure. Each carefully embroidered on their crests, as though a handful of words can neatly capture centuries of colloquial urban existence. […]
A Skort by Any Other Name On a humid afternoon this weekend at St Peregrine’s GAA Club Blanchardstown, west of Dublin, thirty camogie players took the field not in the sport’s traditional skorts, but in shorts. They weren’t in war paint or waving placards but they may as as well have been. The Kilkenny and […]

It has been 10 years since Dublin City Council handed the world’s richest mouse a free pass to the Spire Into a Giant Lightsaber and didn’t even ask for lunch money. It was December 2015. The Force Awakens was about to drop, and Disney, a company worth hundreds of billions, wanted to light up the […]

There are so many things to be loving in Dublin this week! Whether you’re a culture vulture, snack enthusiast, or just nosy about what’s hot right now, here’s your whistle-stop tour through the bits we’re absolutely loving in Dublin this week. A survival guide for the tragically trendy now being bullied by signage. So. It’s sunny. You’ve got your tiny sunglasses on, your €17 graphic tee is cropped just enough to show the tattoo you got in a moment of heartbreak, and your Sambas have barely touched grass. You’ve done your civic duty and supported a […]
Sheela-na-Gigs are carvings, mostly stone, mostly medieval, of women displaying their genitals. Part warning, part weapon, part wild feminine energy. We’re talking full squat, vulva wide, ribs showing, boobs drooping, face sometimes skull-like. In a country where women’s bodies were hidden, punished, and moralised for centuries, it’s wild that these figures not only existed but […]
