Myself and my friends where on a one-week holiday in Crete, when one of my friends met the guy of her dreams in a club on the first night and they both where head over heels in love by the second night.
So on the final night she was DEVASTATED at the thought of never seeing him again and wanted to make their last night together special. So she skipped clubbing with the rest of us, telling us she planned to have some bubbles on the beach with her man and watch the sun come up together for the last time (a tad dramatic I know, but whatever floats your boat).
When her parents saw her arrive home walking like the hunchback of Notre Dame, she told them that when I was drunk I pushed her over the wall.
We left the club at 5am, only to find her crawling up the road with her beloved beside her, screaming and crying that she couldn't stand up; apparently her back just went when they were “watching the sun come up together”. We were in stitches at her crawling up the road on her hands and knees, with him with a big red face beside her.
We took her to the doctors and she got strong pain killers so she could fly home – but then, when her parents saw her arrive home walking like the hunchback of Notre Dame, she told them that when I was drunk I pushed her over the wall.
My friend got married to that very guy five years later, and have two beautiful kids now. Her mam and dad, however, still give me evil eyes… and think I'm the one that can't handle my alcohol.
