Gin and tonics are perfect if you’re looking for something fun and refreshing.
The best gin and tonics work where tonics and garnishes are paired with gins to bring out the underlying flavours.
Lots of places have gins on their spirits menu, but some places go over and above by either having a separate gin menu or having such a big selection.
Here’s are Dublin’s best gin destinations.
Their menu includes 18 gins, each paired with complementary garnishes, and seven types of tonics.
As well as the standard gins, they also have Bulldog, Cao-Runn, Fifty Pounds, Gin Mare, No. 3, Saffron, Death’s Door, Patrick’s Elderflower Gin and Dublin City Gin.
The drinks here are fabulous, with a huge selection, including Jawbox Gin, Blackwater Gin, Malfy Gin, Martin Miller’s Gin and six tonics, with no Schweppes in sight. They also include garnishes to match the flavours of the gins.
The gin bar in the basement of JT Pims, Gin Rummy, has a gin list that has grown to over 50 different varieties with an emphasis on Irish gins. However, they are partial to Glendalough Gin as the owners tend to hang out there.
As well as gorgeous cocktails, House has an impressive 62 gins on its menu. They also have gin flights, which let you taste three different types.
Prices go from €5.50 – €25.

For €12 (or €15 for premium), you can sample three different gins.
