A Petition Has Been Started To Save Subset’s David Attenborough Mural

A petition has been launched to save the David Attenborough mural in Portobello after Dublin City Council ordered its removal earlier this week.

The piece is the latest creation by Subset and was put in place to mark the activist’s 93rd birthday. However, DCC has deemed it an ‘unauthorised development’, much like a previous work depicting UK rapper Stormzy and the ‘horseboy’ mural in Smithfield.

Now, a campaign has been launched by a person called Aoibhinn who writes ‘ Such murals of high artistic merit uplift the citizens, and make Dublin a happier, creative & more interesting place.’ She also urges the council to ‘act in the best interests of citizens who want it to remain.’

If you feel like adding your name to the cause, you can do so by following this link.
