Gardaí have re-issued an appeal for witnesses following the death of a 6-year-old boy in Dublin on Friday afternoon.

The boy was killed after being struck by a white van on the Shanganagh Road in Shankill near the Hazelwood estate.

The van was travelling towards Shankill Village at the time.

The boy was rushed to Temple Street Hospital but passed away the following day.

Gardaí have interview the driver of the van but detectives are now seeking drivers who may have dash-cam footage taken at or near the crash to come forward.

Anybody with information in relation to this collision, or to any drivers who may be in possession of Dash Cam and who were in the area at the time of this collision, to contact the gardaí at Shankill Garda Station on 01 666 5900, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
