The new Christmas trees on Grafton Street and Henry Street have been installed with a very special feature.
The two interactive trees measuring over 10 metres tall will be able to take contactless donations in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
You’ll be able to make donations of €3, €5, €10 or €20 thanks to Visa and AIB Merchant Services and when you do, an extra 3,000 coloured lights will be activated on top of the regular white ones.
The ‘ChariTrees’ which are on Liffey Street and South King Street will be a first for Ireland and you’ll also be able to take boomerangs, videos and selfies.
Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of Temple Street Foundation said, “The funds raised will be put to work in our hospital where they are needed most, helping sick children and bringing hope and healing to their families.”
The DublinTown Christmas Lights will be decorating over 30 streets in Dublin city centre and this year alone, 25 million people are expected to walk under them.
