Construction Is Scheduled To Begin On Two New Southside Parks In The Coming Weeks

fiodhna_hm

Construction is finally going to start on two new parks in Cherrywood later this month. The parks are part of larger plans for a new town complete with 3,800 homes and a retail town centre.

The plans have been two years in the works, with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council granting permission for the parks most recently. Hines Ireland is behind the development; their planning application for Cherrywood town centre includes a multi-screen cinema, restaurants, housing and 5.4km of new roads.

Tully Park will be 22 acres in size, and will be located beside the planned town centre. Beckett Park will be to the north west of the town centre, and will be the smaller size of 13 acres.

There is a third park planned but they’re still awaiting planning permission.
