Driver Stopped For Extremely Dangerous Behaviour Just Outside Of Dublin Last Night

A driver tested positive for cocaine on the N4 last night. 

Gardaí stopped the driver at one of the country's first drug-driving checkpoints between Dublin and Leixlip. 

Turns out, the driver had already been disqualified for 10 years. 

A court appearance is to follow.

Gardaí also tested for the presence of opiates, benzodiazepines and cannabis — all of which returned negative. 

New legislation makes it illegal for motorists to drive while under the influence of cannabis, cocaine or heroin. The first checkpoints were introduced on Wednesday night.
