You’ve heard of Dry January, but have you heard of Sober September?
Well this is the autumnal equivalent of its winter counterpart apparently. Good news for our livers.
Today is September 1, in case you blinked and missed it, and for many marks the start of a month-long attempt at sobriety. The goal is simple; abstain from alcohol for 30 days. Simple in theory but perhaps not so simple in execution. Especially considering today is the All-Ireland Gaelic Final, a sporting event arguably best enjoyed in the pub.
The phenomenon of Sober September appears to have been born as an attempt to recover from summer merriment while simultaneously preparing for the oncoming festive season and inevitable boozing that goes along with it.
Enter Dublin Sober Fest.
Hosted by The Clockwork Door and Dublin Story Time, the festival promises good wholesome fun for all. Things will take place in Temple Bar, with the line-up including events such as yoga, art classes and language exchanges.
