PIC: Residents Of This Dublin Area Told Their Balconies Unsafe To Use

Darragh Berry

RTÉ is reporting that residents of a south Dublin housing estate have been warned that their balconies are unsafe to use.

People at the Hunterswood estate in Ballycullen received an email from the estate’s management company on Friday.

It stated that this was a “matter of urgency” and that the buildings’ balconies were not allowed to be used until further notice.

The balconies are currently only made out of timber which, as the picture below shows, is showing signs of serious deterioration.

Work has began on the balconies and it is understood that two have been removed entirely so far.

The balconies that will remain in the houses will have steel put into them as reinforcement

The board of Hunterswood Management will be having a meeting to further discuss the future of the balconies in the area.
