Dublin Bus employees are requesting a pay increase of up to 30% over a number of years, to bring their wages in line Luas staff.

The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) are bringing the pay claim to the Labour Court today.

According to The Journal, the general secretary of the NBRU Dermot O’Leary said that the recent dispute between Luas drivers and Transdev had highlighted how much higher Luas drivers' wages were in comparison to those of Dublin Bus drivers. Following on from the dispute, O’Leary said the Dublin Bus workers were simply seeking similar terms.

More to follow.

Let's hope the decisions made today don't cause any further disruptions to transport in the city...
